Portre reads the photo library you grant access to and writes a persona from it. You can compare that persona with someone you already know. It is for people 18 and older. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18. We may remove accounts that appear to belong to minors.
Account
You sign in with Apple. Do not impersonate anyone or create an account for someone else. You are responsible for activity on your account.
The service
Portre reads photos you grant access to, and answers you give, to build a persona: scenes, lifestyle traits, places, and a uniqueness percentile that tells you how distinctive your persona is among current members. The reading is an automated interpretation of your own photos, not a measurement of you. We do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete, or flattering, and it is not advice of any kind.
Compare
You may compare personas with someone you already know, by sending them a key or a link or by holding the two phones together. They must accept before a comparison is written. Do not publish keys for strangers to redeem. A comparison shows shared scenes, aligned and contrasting traits, and — if you both allow it — places you have both been.
Photos and profile
Full Access lets us read your library. Limited Access lets you pick which photos. We upload those photos over HTTPS to build your persona. Profile photos must show your verified face. You may edit the grid. Someone you compare with sees that grid, not your camera roll. Analysis is automated. Staff do not browse your camera roll.
What you may not do
- Be who you say you are. No impersonation, no accounts for someone else. Profile photos must be of you.
- Do not upload other people’s private photos, or photos you have no right to use.
- Do not post compare keys or links in public places so strangers can mass-redeem them.
- No spam, scams, or soliciting money.
- Do not share the contents of someone else’s persona or comparison outside the app.
- Report behaviour that breaks these rules. We review reports and may remove content or accounts.
To report or block someone, use the menu on a comparison.
Your data
How we collect and keep data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account in Settings. That removes the rest of what we keep about you, except as we may need to retain for safety or law.
Changes to the app
Portre is in active development. We may add, change, or withdraw features, and we may change wording and layout in the app without a new App Store release.
Termination
You may stop using Portre at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or that we reasonably believe put people at risk.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
